Encore donates tree to the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art's Festival of Trees & Traditions
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students complete a course called Encore where they utilize the Library Media Center’s makerspace and have an opportunity to create, think, explore, and tinker. This year, the students decided to put their creative skills to the test by creating ornaments and decorating a holiday tree to donate to the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art’s Festival of Trees & Traditions. The theme of the tree is “Encore! Use it again!” All materials used to decorate the tree were donated by teachers and staff. Bottle caps, old puzzles pieces, paper towel rolls and food lids are just some of the items students upcycled into ornaments. If you're interested in seeing the tree in the museum, the 44th Annual Festival of Trees & Traditions is held December 1–10, 2017 at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, CT.
